Flip Flop International Childrens Theatre Festival 2008

Dun Laoghaire Rathdown Events are running a wonderful childrens theatre festival from October 8h to 26th. There will be fantastic shows, street theatre and interactive childrens workshops. The focus this year will be on stories and storytelling in Irish and English. There is also a comedy music show that all the family will enjoy. Tickets are available now. There is a special Halloween performance of Hansel and Gretel on Friday October 24th at 4.00pm. Children are encouraged to come in fancy dress and there will be prizes for the best costumes.

I was very sad to learn that the beautiful Powerscourt Springs Health Farm is to close on October 21st this year. Powerscourt is still open for business until that date. Halloween Spectacular, Dublin Zoo

Dublin Zoo is running a Halloween Spooktacular event on Saturday the 25th of October from 11.00am to 3.00pm. The day promises to be packed full of fun activities. Children can look forward to face-painting, a colouring-competition, pumpkin carving and mask-making demonstrations. There will also be spooky storytelling sessions, trick or treat goodies and Halloween-themed creepy-crawler Keeper chats where you can see real animals that slither and crawl. All children are encouraged to dress up for this spooktacular day. No pre-booking is necessary for this event and normal admission rates will apply.

Airfield House are holding a family fun day on Saturday November 1st 2008. The day will include fun and seasonal activities to celebrate Halloween - games, spooky storytelling, nature trails and music. Children are encouraged to come in fancy dress. This year the focus is on costumes made out of recycled materials.
